Jumping in Feet First

While I'm an unknown writer, I've spent the last twenty-four years writing anything possible, perfecting my craft.  For the first twenty-two years, I found joy in writing for family, school, jobs, employees, and employers.  Two years ago, I began writing for my own pleasure and found a passion that can't be denied or extinguished.

Initially, I just wanted to write a book with interesting characters who lived fascinating lives.  I dreamed of creating a story that would be as enjoyable for me to read as it would be for my teenage daughter.  The Warrior Series has offered an unexpected opportunity for my daughter to see that she and I are more alike than we are different.  She's my biggest fan and my toughest critic, and I use every ounce of her feedback.  With her input, Warriors of the Cross, the first book of the series, has become an 114,000-word book transcending genres and offering something for fans of young adult and women’s fiction.

Below, is a summary of Warriors of the Cross:

Allison La Crosse, beginning a challenging family medicine residency, leaves the protection of her family.  With the transfer, her worst nightmares come true.  Her closely guarded mystical talents – those which seldom appeared before the move – unleash themselves from her confinement and reveal their presence with very little provocation.

Allison’s most terrifying power is her compulsion to cure the sick with her touch.  Given her career, this gift would be valuable if she were not drawn like a magnet to the ailing person's every symptom.  Some of which are fatal.

At the hospital and surrounded by life-and-death emergencies, Allison’s inability to manage her impulse turns deadly.  When it does, her mentor, Brody, rescues her from her own demise.  His resuscitation ignites an exciting and tempestuous bond between them.

Desperate for a cure, they join forces and embark upon a journey to uncover the origins of Allison’s lethal curse.  In the midst of their adventure, Allison exposes a secret pursued by many…known by few.  According to the discovery, she was not born into the family she adored.  Unbeknownst to her or the surrogate family, she was switched at birth.  With this knowledge, she learns there is a malevolent world her biological parents tried to keep from her.  In fact, her mother sacrificed herself to make sure Allison remained safe from its dangers and her enemies.
