While commuting to and from Houston this week, I listened to Sookie Stackhouse, Book 11, Dead Reckoning (twice). Since I have read and listened to the first ten books numerous times, I suspect I will read this particular one several more times.
Having been born and raised in North Louisiana, I always have a strong sense of home and family - like I do following a trip back to LA - after reading any of the Sookie Stackhouse Novels. There is something about Sookie (the way she talks, the things she does, and her inner thoughts) that perfectly aligns with the good folks in that area of the state.
Honestly, if you love Sookie, you will love this edition. This is important because there are many, many people rating Dead Reckoning poorly because they are upset with the price of the electronic book. I appreciate every one's opinion on this subject, but believe the rating should be limited to the story, its characters, and the writing. People with complaints about the price of the book should write a letter or email to B&N or Amazon or Ace Hardcover instead of watering down the rating process by using criteria that have nothing to do with the quality of the book.
I should also say that I may be the minority, but I love Sookie AND Eric together. I hope the series ends with them eternally bonded (through love and not blood)!
