I am slowly but surely learning the self-publishing ropes of marketing and advertising. So far, I've done little as it relates to the mass marketing of Warriors of the Cross. On May 24, 2011, I will rectify that situation and begin advertising in earnest.
First, I have a banner ad that will be featured on KindleBoard as their Banner Ad of the Day. Let me say that keeping this under 50 kb was challenging at best. I really wish I could have included more of the book's beautiful design, but after 20+ renditions, this was the best I could do with my limitations.
*See the bottom of the blog to view the add, and thanks to the free services offered by Live Banner Creator & Bannersketch.
Second, I have an ad campaign set to begin with Goodreads which will include a targeted ad showing interested people a blurb of the book and a link to Warriors of the Cross' Goodread's Page. If you like reading, this website is a great place to connect with fellow readers and hear their opinions of books before you spend your hard-earned dollars purchasing them.
Third, I am having a 10-book promotional giveaway meant to generate reviews. This will be held and managed by Goodreads from May 24-June 24. Entering for these giveaways with Goodreads is as simple as clicking your mouse twice, and there are hundreds of giveaways to enter. Go to Goodreads Giveaways for more information.
In preparation for each of these events and for Guardians of the Cross' release, I've decreased the price of Warriors of the Cross' eBook to $0.99. This change should go into effect within the next 48-72 hours. (Sorry, there is not a lot I can do about the price of the paperback, and the price is now $10.44 @ B&N.)
Hopefully, all of this will help to garner interest in Guardians of the Cross, which is scheduled to be released early in July 2011.
