*Follow these sites

This week's featured questions: Don't forget to leave a comment.

Q: Is there a song that reminds you of a book? Or vice versa? What is the song and the book?

A: I'm an author who listens to lots of music while I'm writing. With every book, I connect with one of two songs/singers, and I listen to them over and over again. It's like the words or the singer's passions/emotions embody the spirit of the character or the story line I'm writing. Right now, I'm writing Underground (Secrets, #2), and I can't get enough of Lindsey Pavao when she sings Say AahShe is amazingly talented!

  1. I am an author too, and like you, I also like to listen to music while I write. I understand exactly what you mean about how certain songs and the way they are sung, can help shape your characters and story lines.

  3. I love that version of Say Aah. I remember trying to hunt down the original the night I heard her sing it on The Voice (which I'm addicted to). I can't believe how she much she changed it to make it her own. New follower via Networked Blogs. Here's my FF.

  6. Hi! I know of quite a few author friends who can't help but write with music. Each chapter has a dedicated song, which is awesome. Personally, I like to read in silence. I love music, too, but it distracts me especially if it's a song I truly like. I'll then sing along! :)
